Although it has a decent set of website features, VectorPack has a comparatively limited number of Photoshop brushes, with an equally limited variety. It has mediocre help and support options, and slightly limited brush compatibility. If you're just starting out as a designer, however, you could definitely find some useful options to start building your brush collection.
With just fewer than two dozen brush sets total, no collections or packs, and no free brushes or free samples, VectorPack is hardly a comprehensive resource. However, the website itself offers a decent number of features, for what it's worth. You can preview the brushes in a set, both on the set's details page and on the main browsing page when you hover your cursor over a set.
You can use the brush sets you buy for commercial or personal use, and you can even alter them as needed, as long as you don't resell or redistribute them. There are no membership options for bulk or frequent purchasing, but with only 22 brush sets, a membership would probably only lose money for VectorPack.
For user updates, you can check out the website's blog, see a rudimentary newsletter by signing up for email updates or visit its social media pages on Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Interestingly, this is the only website we reviewed that has a Google+ page.
The brushes are not compatible with earlier versions of Photoshop, like Photoshop 7, and they won't work with Photoshop CS either. However, they are compatible with Photoshop CS 2 through CS 5.5, and the site even says that the brush sets can be converted to work with the earlier, non-compatible versions of the software.
For searching, you can use the simple search bar tool or sort the brush sets alphabetically by name. We would have liked the ability to sort or filter by category, but with so few options, perhaps it wasn't worth the time to code in this function when the company was creating the website.
In terms of variety, VectorPack is limited both in breadth and depth. With fewer than half of the categories that we looked for present, and no single category standing out as having outstanding options, the selection is basic at best.
There are a couple building-themed sets, a scrolls set and a couple battle-themed sets. There is also one set of music PS brushes, three of skulls, several splatter sets, a tribal set and three wings sets. Finally, the strongest category is floral elements, which has five different sets for a total of nearly 60 floral Photoshop brushes. Again, while this isn't enough to create an entire collection, it can be a great starter selection, depending on what you're looking for.
Help and support options are limited to an internationally based phone number, which may be inconvenient for American users, and an email address. Fortunately, the support team responded within about 12 hours to our email inquiry, which is quite a satisfactory timeframe for any support team.
In all, VectorPack may be best used as a way to fill holes in a collection of Photoshop brushes, although it could also act as a good starter option for those who are brand new to the game and don't want to be overwhelmed with too many choices. The helpful staff and strong social media presence make for great communication opportunities as well.
