This iPad mount has a few advantages that you might be interested in, but with those positives come some negatives. With the Snugg you get a case to use on a daily basis. The downside is that you have to purchase it in addition to the headrest mount. Because of how the case hooks into the mount you are also limited to only one viewing angle, which can be a problem if your passenger is short or not sitting directly in front of the screen. Overall, you will probably have more luck if you use a different product because it just doesn't offer enough to make two purchases worth it.
When you are thinking about getting an iPad car mount you want something effortless that enhances the functionality of your iPad. With the Snugg the first problem is that you will have to make two purchases. The first is the case that holds the iPad. This case offers protection to your device but is a little bulky. We wanted something more streamlined. The second purchase is the mount holder. This is an odd design. It not only relies on a strap around the headrest but under it and over it as well. It takes a lot to put on and take off, and the extra straps don't do anything special that make it worth it.
To attach the case to the mount you slide a hook on the cover through the strap. Because of this you are limited to one viewing angle. This is a little troublesome because that means only the person sitting directly in front of the iPad can have a clear view. And then, if they are short, they may still have a difficult time seeing the picture. So in the long run, if you only have one person who wants to watch a movie in the back then this product will be sufficient. Otherwise, you might have to look elsewhere for another headrest mount.
We wanted something that works with at least both versions of the iPad. If you have any other device then you will have to look elsewhere for an iPad mount that's compatible with your tablet or eReader. You can probably fit an original iPad in this case but it won't fit nearly as smoothly.
The biggest problem with this particular product is that it requires two purchases. Granted the case is made to be used on a daily basis, but the case itself isn't as useful as some of the other products out there. The mount is attached in an odd way. We thought it was a bit much to have straps around, below and above the headrest. And in the end, once you have everything set up, you are limited to one viewing angle and one orientation. The Snugg is bulky and doesn't offer anything more than you get with any other case.
